Catherine took up drawing and painting again after several years working in Industry and started studying with Barbara Barrett and Phil Davis, renowned Irish artists specialising in watercolour, acrylic and oil, to gain hands on experience with working in an intensive, creative and commercial environment; combining this practical experience with studying at the London College of Art from which she has received her Diploma.

Her work is characterised by the use of vibrant colour in acrylic and oil and includes some humorous and quirky observations on nature. She uses local inspiration to create colourful sea and landscapes, painting familiar scenes with vivacity and imaginative use of colour.  She also enjoys illustrating, modelling and painting for children, which she did initially for her daughter’s enjoyment.  She weaves favourite story characters into a personalised work of art that children continue to enjoy and treasure. She accepts commissions for art work on pottery and canvas and her work in this regard is highly personal and sought after.

Catherine has exhibited primarily in Ireland (where she lived until recently) in The Kilkenny Arts Festival , Shanagarry Design Centre, Midleton Gallery, Kenmare and Blarney Woolen Mills Hotel.
